Mikolaj Dziurzynski
Mikolaj is the recipient of an EMBO long term fellowship for the project: Fungi - bacteria symbiosis - the first genome-scale reconstruction of fungi-endosymbiont metabolic model.
The main objective of his project is to explain how the metabolisms of Umbelopsis isabellina fungi and its endosymbiotic bacteria Paraburkholderia sp. are intertwined, using genome-scale metabolic modelling. Secondary objectives include:
- To build a comparative genomics analysis of Mucoromycotina phylum with particular emphasis on fungal endosymbionts
- To provide an in-depth annotation of U. isabellina genome
